Personalized Roadmap: The Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)

A cornerstone of our approach is the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). At the beginning of each school year, our students (learners), with their facilitators (teachers) and parents, create an ILP. This plan includes academic goals (aligned with Common Core State Standards) and social-emotional goals. These goals are woven into yearlong targets, which the learner and facilitator continuously monitor, assess, and reflected upon. With clear expectations and opportunities to showcase their talents, learners are motivated to grow and achieve their goals.

Empowering Learners: Learner-Led Conferences

Students at iLEAD Agua Dulce learn to evaluate their progress. At least twice per year, they lead portfolio-based Learner-Led Conferences with their facilitators and parents. During these meetings, learners present their accomplishments, discuss strengths, and identify areas for growth. Facilitators coach them to confidently direct these discussions. These conferences ensure accountability and empower learners to take ownership of their learning journey.
