Congressional App Challenge

Congressman George Whitesides, who represents California’s 27th District, is inviting learners in grades 6-12 to participate in the Congressional App Challenge. It’s a prestigious computer science prize, and you can compete either on your own or with a team of up to four learners.

Key Details

  • Who can compete? You can compete if you reside or attend school in the 27th District. If you’re on a team, at least half of the team members must live in or attend school in the participating district.
  • What can you submit? You can submit an app created for any platform, topic, or using any coding language. This includes mobile apps, websites, games, robots, and more. You can even use block code, APIs, and AI in your project. Your submission can be a project you’ve worked on since October 24, 2024, including anything from an after-school program or summer camp.
  • How do you sign up? The deadline to register and submit your app is October 30, 2025. You can find more information and sign up at congressionalappchallenge.us.
