>Over the the last couple of months, iLEAD Agua Dulce 9th graders have been immersed in a biology unit about mycology. Their driving question is “How can our understanding of mycology support wellness for humanity and the rest of the earth?” This project invites learners to delve into life sciences through the lens of mycology. They develop foundational knowledge and apply of mycology research. They also apply science and engineering practices to mushroom cultivation and tackling real-world challenges.
Can we cultivate mushrooms in a sustainable accessible way in our classroom? Yes! Yes, we can! Our 10th graders served as mentors during the entire process, because they enjoyed doing this project last year and looked forward to what the 9th graders could produce this time around. Check out the results so far!
