Dear Families,
One of our most treasured traditions at iLEAD Agua Dulce is our Multicultural Feast. In years past, we have celebrated our different cultures by having meaningful conversations in class, cooking a dish that has meaning to our family, bringing it to school, and sharing it with our iLEAD Agua Dulce family.
Last year, we were unable to carry out this tradition due to distance learning. But this year, we are excited to bring it back in an adapted way. On Friday, November 19th, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, we will celebrate our Multicultural Day with our learners and families!
Each class has selected a country they will learn about, and they will create the country flag. These flags will be placed around the school with three trivia questions about that country. Families are encouraged to find all of the flags and answer the questions together. Once the trivia questions are answered, you will proceed to our Customs Table, where you and your child will receive a stamp on your “passport.”
In addition, we are keeping with the tradition of sharing food and enjoying the day with our families. The learners will be researching the most common desserts in the country their classroom selected.
We are asking that our families bring in store-bought desserts to share with the learners. Your child’s facilitator will send a list of suggested treats to bring. Unfortunately, as this will be an outdoor event, we are unable to warm up food.
We are looking forward to having a beautiful day, rain or shine.
