A Message from the Director

iLEAD Agua Dulce Director Lisa Latimer with learners

Dear iLEAD Families,

Congratulations! Week one is in the books! We would like to thank you for your patience and support as we navigated through these past few days together. Though our distance learning journey presents new challenges for all of us, we want you to know we are in this together, and we are here for you every step of the way.

To provide you with low-stress, inspired learning, we’ve set the following goals for ourselves for the next couple of weeks:

  • Technology access and troubleshooting: Our technology team is working around the clock with all of our school sites and families to make sure your children can log into their classes and live sessions. If for some reason you are unable to access PowerSchool or Zoom, fill out a tech ticket, then email your child’s facilitator for support with school work.
  • Building strong relationships with your children: During the first two weeks of school, our facilitators will be focused on making connections with your children to build a foundation for meaningful learning. They are also working with the learners to ensure they get into a daily rhythm and know how to read and follow their schedule. In addition, Zoom and PowerSchool may be new to some learners, so we are focusing on understanding those components as well.  Therefore, the academic assignments listed in your children’s classes will be light and more of a review
  • Uploading classwork: It is essential that your child uploads classwork to PowerSchool on a daily basis. Our facilitators are ready to answer any questions or help guide you on how to do this. Please join any of our live support sessions or email your child’s facilitator.
  • Brain and Body Breaks: While we offer conferring or  live support throughout the day, we all need a break from the computer. Please ensure that your child (and you) take the time to decompress, get some fresh air and play a little. We want to avoid mental  exhaustion, so ensuring that your child has that outlet is very important.

Thank you for entrusting your children’s education to us. Whether we’re in a Zoom Room or a classroom, we will continue to do our best to inspire your kids’ natural love of learning. We are excited to partner with you on this adventure.

If you need technical support, please submit a Learner Support Tech Ticket.

With gratitude,

Lisa Latimer
School Director
