We have several learners that have been missing school for various reasons. We cannot express enough that as a Project-Based Learning school, attendance is vital. PBL requires collaboration, discussions, working in cohorts, and researching.
In addition, the facilitators confer daily with small groups in the areas of math and reading to ensure that our learners are reaching their academic goals. These are all valuable components that cannot be made up with worksheets and will impact grades if your child misses frequently. We highly encourage you to bring your child to school each day for optimum learning and academic and social success.
If you know that your child will be missing three or more days of school, please arrange with your child’s facilitator and the office for your child to placed on Independent Study.
