iLEAD Agua Dulce

Dear Families,

We began this school year with the theme “What is your superpower?” We celebrated our triumphs — from our DreamUp team traveling to Florida to watch their experiment launch to the International Space Station, to sweeping up the awards for our amazing float in the Agua Dulce Community Parade. We had a phenomenal Multicultural Feast and Winter Program, and our new Art Lab and Makery were finally completed. Our learners worked alongside a professional muralist creating our Creation Station. Five talented learners placed in the Santa Clarita Youth Art Showcase, and learners and parents participated and completed the Final Mile Relay. Our learners met and worked with experts in a variety of fields, presented strong projects, and participated in a plethora of extracurricular activities, such as sports and workshops.

However, our true superpowers shined through when we were faced with obstacles this year, such as the power outages, fires, and finally transitioning to online school due to COVID-19.

We end this year knowing the super strength and resilience that lies within each of us.

To our parents: You have demonstrated encouragement, patience, flexibility and an abundance of multitasking, ensuring that your child attended Zoom meetings and completed work. We are so grateful for your support this year.

To our staff: You never skipped a beat, showing your genuine care throughout the year and creating projects and curriculum both on-site and online that were engaging and meaningful. Your superpower of building relationships so all of our learners felt safe, welcome, and included was evident. Thank you for working endlessly, motivating our learners to ensure the learning never stopped.

To our incredible learners: You are the true superheroes. You have proven that you can overcome obstacles and adapt to change. You have demonstrated grit and optimism, and you never gave up. We are beyond proud of the growth you have displayed and the strength that came through. You are our inspiration, and we know the challenges you have overcome will help you to be the change-makers of the world.

Together we make a magnificent Superhero Team! We truly wish we could have a proper farewell to end the school year. However, we adapt and move forward. So, the next best thing is to see all of you at our Drive-Through Farewell Parade on Friday, June 12, between the hours of 3:00-5:00 PM. We have a gift for our learners, and a couple of special superhero visitors will be on hand along with our staff! We cannot wait to see you.

I wish you a well-deserved beautiful and relaxing summer.

With gratitude,

Lisa Latimer
School Director
