Creation Station!

Dear Families,

“Creating expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Creating helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness. Creating also stimulates both sides of the brain, increasing the capacity of memory, attention, and concentration. It helps develop reading skills, and children do better in math and science.”

Knowing it’s important for children to design and create, we now have our new Creation Station! The previous Lost and Found Shed has been transformed into a place where our learners can tap into their creative side and have more options during recess and lunch. The shed will house all types of media to create with, including an outdoor Mini Makery. In order to make the Creation Station the best it can be, we would appreciate any donations of the following:

  • Tempura paint
  • Watercolors
  • Brushes
  • Play-Doh
  • Clay
  • Crayons
  • Loose parts
  • Ribbons/yarn
  • Construction paper
  • Canvas
  • Easels

Mini Makery Items

  • Scraps of wood
  • Nails
  • Screws
  • Sandpaper
  • Hammers
  • Screwdrivers
  • Washers
  • Nuts and bolts
  • Gently-used tool bench
  • Tape measure
  • Wood glue
  • Level

All donations will benefit our program and enhance creativity and outdoor learning.
