Every child is unique, wonderfully talented, and inherently valuable. That’s why iLEAD Agua Dulce is committed to individualized learning, an educational approach that tailors instruction to meet each learner’s distinct needs, abilities, and interests. We use a wide array of learning opportunities to create a personalized academic experience, empowering learners to progress at their pace, explore passions, and receive personalized support. This learner-centered approach inspires kids to engage and grow.
A cornerstone of our approach is the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). At the beginning of each school year, our students (learners), with their facilitators (teachers) and parents, create an ILP. This plan includes academic goals (aligned with Common Core State Standards) and social-emotional goals. These goals are woven into yearlong targets, which the learner and facilitator continuously monitor, assess, and reflected upon. With clear expectations and opportunities to showcase their talents, learners are motivated to grow and achieve their goals.
Students at iLEAD Agua Dulce learn to evaluate their progress. At least twice per year, they lead portfolio-based Learner-Led Conferences with their facilitators and parents. During these meetings, learners present their accomplishments, discuss strengths, and identify areas for growth. Facilitators coach them to confidently direct these discussions. These conferences ensure accountability and empower learners to take ownership of their learning journey.
iLEAD Agua Dulce recognizes that “how” a child learns is as vital as “what” they learn. Our unique blended model combines classroom and non-classroom-based public education, adapting to each learner’s needs. We develop individualized programs to optimize every child’s learning potential. Whether learning primarily at home or utilizing our on-site small-group lessons, our independent study program equips learners with research-based skills and prepares them for real-world interaction.
Our mission at iLEAD Agua Dulce is to inspire learners to become creative problem solvers, compassionate leaders, collaborative team members, and responsible citizens with a lifelong love of learning. Through personalized instruction and active learning, we celebrate each child’s individuality, helping them discover their highest potential in the environment that suits them best.
