National Honor Society (NHS) has been a pioneer in student organizations in the United States by using a unique, forward-thinking lens to recognize outstanding students since 1921. NHS believes in the value and power of recognition and being a member of NHS is far more than academia. The program is about elevating the culture of an entire community through everyday scholarship, service, leadership, and character—and our learners have shown a commitment to these shared values.
We are pleased to introduce iLEAD Agua Dulce’s National Honor Society founding president and vice president.
Hello! My name is Nayomee Espinoza and I am your NHS president! I am a 16-year-old who has a great passion in many forms of art. I’ve been drawing since I was about six and have been doing my best to perfect my skill since then. I’ve managed to find a way to turn my passion into a way to make money and make myself financially independent, as I run my own small business selling my art. With my art skills, I hope to get into any of my top-five art universities and become a professional in animation, character design, or concept art. In my future I have a couple pathways I’m considering: either settle with an art degree and work for different studios or people, or work to get a master’s degree and become an art director for my own productions. Besides my thoughts for my future, I am currently and always focused on being an achiever, keeping my grades up, and supporting my school community.
Hello! My name is Sam, and I am your NHS vice president! I am in my second semester of 11th grade. Some of my hobbies include art, games, and reading. I don’t have any solid ideas about what I want to do with my future, but I know I want to be able to learn new things. Currently my top options are something in art or science. In art I would like to do some sort of game development or concept art, and in science I am interested in sciences that further our understanding of the world, such as high-energy physics. Outside of school, I am in Girl Scouts and currently working on my gold award, and I am studying oil paint fine arts at an art studio. I like the phrase “If you can do it when it’s hard, you can do it even better when it’s easy,” so instead of waiting for a time in my life when I’m less busy, I am learning the things I want to know now. I have recently been learning 3D modeling and have just started picking up a game engine.
