What to Know for the 2023-24 School Year

iLEAD Agua Dulce learner SmartLab

Dear iLEAD Agua Dulce Families,

We hope that you have been enjoying the summer and have made many happy memories. We are looking forward to having all of our learners back on campus August 15, 2023, for the first day of school and would like to welcome all of our new families as well. Below are a few important dates to mark on your calendar. Your child’s facilitator will be reaching out to you the first week in August with a welcome email that includes the school supply list. As always, we are here to support you and your child, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

School Hours for TK-11

Monday-Thursday: 8:45 AM-3:15 PM

Friday: 8:45 AM-12:30 PM

Important Dates to Remember

Welcome Back and Meet the Staff Family Picnic!
August 9, 4:00-6:00 PM

This is an informal evening where learners and families can bring a picnic dinner or grab a snack from the Backyard Smokehouse food truck and Kona Ice. Kick back, relax and meet our phenomenal staff. This is also a wonderful opportunity to meet new families and for the learners to connect with their classmates prior to the first day of school.

First Day of School/Coffee and Muffins in the Village
August 15

School gates will open up at 8:00 AM, with school beginning at 8:45 AM. Parents, we welcome you to join us in the garden for some muffins and coffee at 9:00 AM.

Back to School Night
August 22, 5:00-7:00 PM

In a project-based learning (PBL) school, the classroom looks very different from a traditionally based school. Back to School Night will help you know what to expect throughout the year, what PBL looks like in the classroom, the various types of assessments we use, Home Connections, school culture, and much more. It is a very informative evening where valuable information will be given. Please plan to attend.

School Closed for Labor Day
September 4

iSUPPORT
Beginning September 6 at 9:00 AM in the Village

We have an amazing community of family volunteers that support our school in many ways. We hope that you will attend our iSUPPORT meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. You will gain valuable information on how you can become involved, whether you volunteer in the classroom, assist on field trips, or help with planning on special event committees. iSUPPORT also helps to keep families updated on what is taking place on campus and is a great way to connect with each other. We value our volunteers! We look forward to seeing you there.

On-Campus Volunteer Orientation
September 8, 9:00 AM

We love teaming with our families to ensure the success of our learners. There are several areas on campus for our families to help, including in the classrooms as well as on field trips. In order to be a volunteer on campus, you must do the following: be fingerprinted, fill out a TB questionnaire, and attend our Volunteer Orientation. All forms will be handed out the day of orientation.

Communication

ParentSquare

Please make sure that you have signed up for ParentSquare. Important reminders and information regarding school emergencies and events will be relayed through this system. Monday Message, Weekly Updates and School Website

The Monday Message is sent out each week to all of our families. It includes articles, upcoming events, pictures of learners, updates, and other pertinent information regarding school activities.

Weekly updates are sent out to you from your child’s facilitator and contain very important information regarding classroom instruction and other imperative information.

You can also find all of our Monday Messages and other important information archived on our website at ileadaguadulce.org.

Social Media

iLEAD Agua Dulce has two social media platforms for families and friends to access. Our Facebook and Instagram accounts are constantly updated with pictures of our learners and descriptions of the learning process. Please check out our Facebook and Instagram.

iCREATE

iCREATE provides learners with a safe and fun after-school environment. Learners will be guided and encouraged to grow their own creative experience through a variety of activities and learning experiences. This year we have themed weeks with many hands-on math, science, and ELA activities and learner-led experiences. The annual registration fee goes toward supplies and staffing for the program. Learn more here.

You will be receiving more information over the next few weeks, so stay tuned!

With gratitude,

Lisa Latimer
